Chris Brogan, Jeffrey Hayzlett, Chris Pirillo to Judge User-Generated Advertising For Two Billion Dollar Nonprofit Campaign

Jury Of Marketing And Media Leaders To Select Grand Prize Winners of Pause To Support A Cause Competition

Seattle (January 4, 2010) – The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council and Zooppa.com today announced some of the nation's most prominent thought leaders in marketing and social media will judge a user-generated public service announcement competition for the CMO Council's new "Pause to Support a Cause" initiative.

This milestone program donates money to charities of choice based on individual participation in online market research funded by global companies. The CMO Council started the program to direct up to two billion dollars annually to nonprofits worldwide.

The contest is running on the Zooppa creative platform with a final submission deadline of February 5th, 2010, and will draw on the talents of its growing global community of 50,000 current and aspiring creative professionals. Creatives will produce and submit print ads, online banners and videos in support of the newly launched CMO Council campaign (www.surveyforgood.org). The best work will be selected by a jury of marketing and social media leaders including:

Winning entrants will have their work showcased to the CMO Council’s 5,000 members who control more than $125 billion in annual marketing spend and to a network of non-profits seeking new ideas and assistance with other communications needs. In addition, major media partners in the print, online and broadcast will feature the best submissions. Grand prize winners will receive trips to New York City for a portfolio review with creative and advertising leaders, or travel to Africa to take part in the Freeplay Foundation’s distribution of wind-up radios and flashlights to remote villagers. "This is a unique opportunity to do good work in the field, get an introduction to African tribal customs, view spectacular wildlife, and experience a novel social and educational advancement program supported by Tom Hanks and other celebrities," said Wil Merritt, CEO of Zooppa.

Awards will also be presented to the top creative work selected by the Zooppa team and the community. Each Zooppa or community winner will receive consumer electronics packages from top brands through distributor CDW.
